Alyce was my mom and she was the life of the party. There is a section of vineyard right in the middle of the North slope where the soils are very heavy adobe clay resulting in the vines struggling to produce a crop more than 1 ton to the acre. It is a field blend of clones 777 and 115. This minimal crop yield tends to produce wines that are big, rich, “over the top” flavors; perfect for “Alyce.”

Our processes are done in a way that each wine is allowed to express its unique character; never compromising the wine’s freshness, finesse or texture. We hand harvest and manually sort; once in the vineyard and once in the winery. The Pinot Noir is destemmed and gravity guides the whole berries into open topped fermenters.

Cuvée Alyce pours a deep ruby hue and immediately reveals beautifully layered aromatics of supple leather, baked cherries, truffle, and crushed flowers. The bouquet is both savory and floral, offering depth, warmth, and quiet complexity. On the palate, the wine is rounded and harmonious within a graceful medium-bodied frame; a silky texture carries ripe red and dark fruit tones, while well-integrated tannins provide structure and polish. The finish is elegant and refined, lingering with notes of ripe cherry and subtle earthy nuance.
