The Clos des 60 Ouvrées is one of three Volnay monopoles owned exclusively by Domaine de la Pousse d’Or — a historic 60-ouvréé plot (approximately 2.5 acres) entirely within the En Caillerets premier cru. One of the most celebrated individual plots in all of Burgundy, the Clos des 60 Ouvrées produces wines of extraordinary concentration and complexity, with old vines planted on clay and limestone soils delivering deep, violet-tinged black and red fruit with remarkable precision and energy. The domaine has been certified biodynamic, with grapes hand-harvested, destemmed, cold-macerated, and fermented on indigenous yeasts before being moved by gravity and bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Aromas of black cherries, licorice, baking spices, minerals. Plush and deep, with medium tannins; silky. Flank steak with pepper; oeufs en meurette (poached eggs in red Burgundy); aged French cheese. An ‘ouvrée’ is a unit of measurement from the Middle Ages, signifying the amount of land a field worker could successfully toil in a day.
