An historic walled plot situated above Corton-Bressandes on the famed hill of Corton, the ‘Clos du Roi’ is a full, broad, and intense grand cru. The estate’s three acres of vines are planted on classic Burgundian soils of clay and limestone, with plantings dating to 1979 and 1987. Corton is the only red grand cru on the Côte de Beaune, and the Clos du Roi climat is among its most celebrated expressions.

The 2023 vintage in Burgundy was the region’s warmest year on record, yet much of that heat came through warmer nights and mild shoulder seasons rather than a scorching summer, which helped preserve acidity in the final wines. The season offered a rare combination of quality and quantity, yielding a plentiful crop of ripe fruit; the reds are aromatic and perfumed, with clean, pure aromas and a lovely creamy character on the palate. Producer decisions around yield management and harvest timing were central to quality, with the best wines combining concentration with Burgundian typicity and freshness.
