2015 was the third drought year, and vines were becoming difficult to manage. A late frost and several serious hot spells added to the challenge. Crops were light and early, with some shrivel, but intense colors and flavors helped make it a successful vintage. Three-day cold soak followed by inoculation with VQ51 yeast. Fermentations were sticky, but re-inoculation with UV43 allowed them to finish a few weeks after going to barrel. The wines were then inoculated for malolactic fermentation.

Complex and showing the influence of all five varieties, the nose is spicy and intriguing. Though Cabernet Sauvignon plays a leading role, it supports the plum, berry, cedar and cassis of the other varietals. The Miscela still has the energy and attitude typical of this vineyard site.
