Nestled in Tuscany, near Chiusi south of Siena, Tenuta Marcianella is a custodian of the beauty of the territory and expresses its excellence through wines. The land of Marcianella is South-facing with sandy-clay soil and has been producing wine for almost three thousand years, ever since Etruscan times. Property covers 1,235 acres, with 30ha 74 acres planted within both the Chianti and Chianti Colli Senesi zones. La Rosa d’Oro, the Golden Rose, was the most prestigious gift that the Catholic Church gave a city - Pope Alexander VII gave Michelangelo Bonci Casuccini the honor of bestowing the Golden Rose to the city of Siena.

The soils of Marcianella tell a story millions of years old. From the Cretaceous (80 million years ago) to the Pliocene Epoch (3 million), the terrains were formed by deposits of sand, clay and silt on the bottom of the sea. These soils express their unique composition through wines acting as spokespersons and custodians of history and origins.

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats and maceration lasts circa 15 days at a controlled temperature of 28°C. Shortly after malolactic fermentation the wine is refined in oak barrels for refinement.

Tasting notes: intense ruby red color. An intense and fruity bouquet. More evident are the accents of mature red fruit, cherries and blackberries. La Rosa d’Oro is very round, sweet and soft. The finish is characterized by a persistent flavor.

Serving suggestions: white and red meat (both roasts or salted), cheeses and traditional Mediterranean first courses.
