Coup de Foudre — meaning “lightning strike” or “love at first sight” in French — was founded by John Schwartz, CEO of Amuse Bouche and Au Sommet, who named it after the story of meeting his wife. The 37.2 Cuvée is named for the body temperature in degrees Celsius at which one feels a jolt of electricity — love at first sight. The wine is a Right Bank Bordeaux-inspired blend grown from select Napa Valley estate vineyards in the Calistoga AVA, crafted by winemaker Kent Jarman — whose resume includes Duckhorn, Somerston, and Kenefick Ranch. The wine emphasizes power and purity, with rich cherry and blackberry intermixed with hints of licorice, leather, and sweet tobacco. Silky tannins and well-integrated French oak carry the long finish.

Dense with luxurious cherry, spicy oak and mocha aromas. Complex currant, black olive and loamy cedar notes wrapped in firm, supple tannins that linger on the finish.
