2010 Russian River Valley Chardonnay

This classic Russian River Valley Chardonnay mainly hails from the Orsi Vineyard on Eastside Road in Healdsburg. This vineyard and the “See” Chardonnay clone planted there exhibit consistent characteristics of fresh Gravenstein apple, crisp acidity and crushed whet stones from the complex minerality from the rock and fossil components found in the soil. Honey, Elberta peaches, oak spice and cooked pears leap from the glass. Candied apple, orange blossoms, creme brulee, roasted hazelnut. Bosc Pear, and Meyer Lemon zest glide across the mid-palate leading to a refreshing finish that seems to never dissipate. Perfectly paired with panko crusted pan-fried abalone with beurre blanc.
