Garcia Figuero’s Fifteen Months In Barrel is a bright, clean wine, cherry-red in color with red reflections bordering on the luminescent, and long, thick legs. Complex aromatic aromas combine ripened fruit and spices, with licorice notes. Powerful on the palate, the wine is well-balanced and its pleasant tannins bring harmony and balsamic notes to the long, intense finish.

The Tempranillo grapes used in this wine come from vines that are more than 50 years old. After being hand-harvested and undergoing cluster selection in the vineyards, the grapes are de-stemmed and go through gravity-controlled tanks, with two days maceration prior to fermentation. An additional 14 days of maturation follow, with malolactic fermentation taking place. The wine is aged for fifteen months in new barrels (95-percent American and 5-percent French oak). It then spends an additional 21 months aging in bottle before leaving the cellar.
