Aromas of blackberry, blueberry and toast. On the palate there is a balanced acidity and fine tannins as well as the bold pure dark berry flavors characteristic of the Pesonen Vineyard. There is a lingering fruit finish with soft toasty oak aromas.
93 Point Review - Master Sommelier Catherine Fallis The grapes for this powerful, intense Cabernet Sauvignon from the Pesonen vineyard at the north end of Alexander Valley have been used for iconic wines such as Silver Oak and Jordan. While Alexander Valley Cabernets are typically softer than those from Napa, this wine is as richly structured and robustly tannic as they come. Inviting aromas include cassis, bing cherry, blueberry, dark and milk chocolate, walnut, nutmeg and caramel. Chocolate layer cake, plum, stewed fruits and toasty oak notes dominate the palate, and a gentle acidity comes up on the long finish to refresh the palate. Try this with a juicy grilled steak.
