At first sight, you notice the deep, dark color of the wine. The White Hawk Vineyard typically produces small berries, giving us a good skin-to-pulp ratio and aiding in the color extraction in the wine. On the nose, our 2010 White Hawk Vineyard Syrah wine projects the bright blue fruit notes and white pepper spice that this vineyard is so known for. The fruit is dark on the palate at first with a hint of herbal notes providing structure under the dark velvet layer of fruit. In the glass the wine opens up and shows more elegance on the nose while providing a powerful focus and finish. Cellar this wine for 1-2 years and enjoy it for 8-10 more years.
92 Point Review - Robert Parker A beautiful effort that boasts knockout aromatics of creme de cassis, currants, smoked meats, truffle and hints of chocolate, the 2010 Syrah White Hawk Vineyard is seamless and elegant on the palate, with juicy, yet integrated acidity, fantastic purity and an overall silky, generous feel. Still a baby, it will continue to evolve gracefully for upwards of a decade. Drink 2015-2020.
