100% Cinsault from the famous Bechthold vineyard, the oldest vineyard in the Lodi region, planted in 1886. The Rosé is produced from 50% saignée and 50% fruit harvested just for Rosé. A small portion fermented in very neutral oak yields a creamy texture. This delicately pink wine is bursting with strawberry guava-like fruit, with faint suggestions of drippy white peach; bone dry, yet soft, lush, creamy, almost voluptuously textured in the mouth. Sip all night with or without food.
92 Point Review - Wine Enthusiast Onesta is Jillian Johnson’s debut of her own wines; she previously made Cinsault-based reds and rosés for the Phoenix Ranch brand. She is not new, however, to the indelible Bechthold Vineyard and its ancient Cinsault grapes, and her passion and expertise with the site shows gorgeously here. Orange-pink in hue, this beauty shares notes of crushed strawberry that are perfectly in balance with its dry, elegant point-of-view. Sip this one all night long, with food or without.
