The vineyard, located in Carneros in Sonoma County, consists of two different Pinot Noir selections known as the famed “Dijon” selections. Each brings a different characteristic that makes this wine very complex and richly layered. Aged 12 months in a blend of French oak barrels, 30% of which is new French oak, to allow the natural oxygenation to mellow the tannins and integrate fruit characteristics in the wine.
High toned notes of wild strawberry and cherry dominate with Asian spice, vanilla, sandalwood and mineral notes. Bright garnet color and robust tannins melt away to reveal lingering dark berry flavors.
