In my opinion, along with many experts in the wine industry, Dry Creek is hands down the best place on Earth to grow Zinfandel. The combination of the soil and the weather is perfect for this particular grape. The Buchignani vineyard from which I source is a 2-acre dry farmed benchland vineyard on the northern end of Dry Creek Road. An increased amount of seasoned and neutral oak was used on this wine to help keep the trademark Zinfandel aromas and flavors intact. This is a fairly big Zinfandel with a long finish; the palate is dominated by flavors of strawberry jam with hints of raspberry and basil.
