2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
California: Napa Valley
Opaque. Pomegranate edged.
Wow! Pronounced barrel aromas of roasted coffee, mocha, and vanilla. Cabernet Sauvignon varietal emerges with berries, plums, sweet tobacco, cedar, dusty earth, and even a pretty floral whiff.
Deep and concentrated with dark berries, graphite, toast, cacao, and a dusty hillside spice.
Smooth and plush with structure and bones. The flavors linger for 30 seconds. Serious stuff!
This is a big wine, but quite balanced. Best pairing options involve a prime cut of red meat such as an aged New York or grilled lamb chops.
