Winegrowers and winemakers are touting the exceptional quality that was seen from the 2013 vintage. The harvest started slightly earlier than previous years, and the pace quickly sped up towards the end of August and throughout September, with an even ripening time between vineyards. This rapid pace allowed harvest to end for most around the last week in October, roughly two-to-three weeks earlier than normal seasons. After the bounty of 2012, many were skeptical whether or not Mother Nature would bestow kindness two years in a row, but that is what in-fact happened.

The Russian River Valley is sculpted by the regular intrusion of cooling from the Pacific Ocean, a few miles to the west. The fog usually arrives in the evening, retreating to the ocean the following morning. This natural air-conditioning allows our Pinot Noir grapes to develop full flavor maturity over an extended growing season, while retaining their life-giving natural acidity. The famous Goldridge loam soil is well suited for growing Pinot Noir and provides the terroir that the Russian River Valley Pinot Noir’s are known for.

Aromas of wild strawberries and white pepper delight the senses. Bright flavors of raspberry, red cherry and blackberry are lush on the palate with hints of anise and vanilla on the finish.
