The 2010 Alanté Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is our richest, deepest, most sumptuous vintage to date. Fans of our previous efforts will recognize this bottling as classic Alanté, expressed with exceptional intensity and concentration. Aromatically, the 2010 is slightly darker than usual. The vineyards opulent ripe raspberry and black cherry characteristics are front-and-center, but they are embellished here with charming notes of sweet blackberries and black currants. As the wine opens up, subtle aromas of dark chocolate, baking spices, and rock dust emerge to complement the effusive fruit. On the palate, this vintage is remarkable for its depth and richness. The emphasis here is on the purity of the fruit, with concentrated berry flavors and a lush mid-palate texture that call to mind a delicious coulis of ripe dark cherries. The finish, too, is thick with luscious sweet cherries and raspberries, and coats the palate long after the last sip. Alantés signature tannins – ephemerally silky, as if they had simply melted into the wine – are richer here than in past vintages, and we expect them to ensure many years of beautiful evolution in the bottle.

Robert Parker Review Dense ruby/purple-colored with notes of blueberries, blackberries and incense, this impressively endowed wine exhibits full-bodied richness, opulence and exuberance as well as a clean, pure finish. Approachable now, it should be drinkable in 5-6 years, and last for 15-20.
