Estate grown, produced, bottled, and aged in glass at 55 degrees for three years after bottling, this wine is polished and refined, gaining depth and richness as it opens.

With the extra years of bottle development, true bouquet layers are well evolved. The bright nose of cherry and black currants is encircled by a hint of cigar-box cedar. Some delicate floral notes of violets arise. The palate is all cassis and kirsch with a little cocoa powder. The structure of the wine has both volume, richness, and very silky tannins. It finishes long and clean.

This is David Mahaffey’s 15th vintage as winemaker for Palladian wines and he only produces one wine from this estate per vintage. Drinkable and very rewarding now, patience and additional years of aging will be rewarded by even more complexity.
