The Laughinghouse Grenache is sourced directly from a wonderful (and wonderfully large) vineyard near the Santa Lucia AVA, overlooking the Salinas River Valley. Just a bit cooler and just a bit longer hang time allows for a greater complexity to develop in these Grenache grapes.

The wine is handpicked and hand sorted before heading to the very simple tank fermentation. That is to say, no oak was harmed in the production of this wine.

The natural, crackling delicious and mouth-filling flavor is all red fruits - strawberry, rhubarb, raspberry, plums and cherries, with a slight mineral streak running from end to end. This blend has a tiny (3.6%) amount of white grapes (Roussanne and Grenache Blanc) which contribute to the delicacy and the aromatic complexity of the wine.

The finish is especially broad and long too, with a touch of quinine and happy, snappy berries.

The wonderful thing about Grenache is that when it’s bottled fresh like this it is a spectacular wine to chill slightly and accompany your grilled foods. At room temperature it is elegant and spicy enough for a roast chicken at a dinner party - but then it’s so lip-smackingly fresh and zingy, you’ll want another bottle.
