Devil’s Inkstand takes its name from one particularly intriguing spring with notably steep sides and great depth causing the water within to appear black as ink. With this bottling we pay tribute to the geologic forces that created the superb soils here in which we grow grapes and make unparalleled wines.
Composed of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Petit Verdot, 16% Malbec and Petite Syrah, it exhibits flavors of mocha-laced currant, plum and blueberry with a hint of tobacco and earth notes.
In crafting this wine, we look to our favorite vineyard sources and blend small lots to produce a multifaceted wine that reflects the sense and flavor of the place. Cabernet brings structure and framework to the blend, Petit Verdot contributes tannin, mouthfeel and volume, Petite Syrah provides color, rustic appeal and dark berry flavors. Malbec brings background spice and dried fruit aromas and flavors.
