This Sonoma County Pinot is made up of fruit from no less than five great vineyards. It has a medium-garnet color that’s bright red, without bricking. It is unfiltered so there’s a natural dullness to the color.
The nose has all the wonder and beauty of great Sonoma Pinot. It is a delightful blending of bing cherry, cranberry and wild strawberries, damson plums, rose petals and light green earth. In the mouth it is silky and quite smooth, very well balanced, with just enough grip to remind you to serve it with fresh caught king salmon.
This wine saw no new oak, and only four of the barrels were one year old, the others older. Not at all a heavy weight, this is for the lover of Pinot’s delicacy and exquisite beauty. As a debut wine for our company, we couldn’t be happier.
