This rich and intense dark purple Petite Sirah has a nose of ripe blackberries and currants. Its berry flavors and oak make a great combination and rich mouth feel.
The finish is long on the palate with good balance, structure and shows a classic Lake County cocoa and coffee that will stand up to aging.
Pairs well with grilled meats, spicy pastas, and rich dark chocolates.
This is our 12th release of this Petite Sirah, harvested from vines planted on our estate in 1997. We have 17 acres planted on St. George rootstock with the spacing of 6’ X 10’ Upright Globe training system of head training and spur pruning. The shiny, black obsidian, which is an outcropping from the volcanic red soils, is evident on a moonlit night when the cougars are on the prowl.
