The icon line, Benegas Lynch, is made from our best grapes from selected plots. These wines seek to reflect the maximum expression of terroir. They are unique, limited production and made only in the best vintages.
This is a brilliant, deep red wine with the purple hues characteristic of the varietal.
The first olfactory sensation that presents itself are the aromas of ripe strawberries and plums. Then floral notes are discovered, mainly violets, characteristic of the coldest areas of the Uco Valley.
This is a powerful marked by round tannins and a lot of character, with excellent balance and great persistence on the palate. The oak has given it the silkiness necessary to unite the whole range of descriptors that has developed in this wine during its fermentation, hence the very present notes of rawhide and snuff that emerge.
Pairs well with roast lamb and other braised red meats and soft cheeses such as brie or camembert.
Vineyard Notes
After several years of exploring different areas, in 2010 Bodega Benegas acquired the 175 acre Finca La Encerrada vineyard, located in the Uco Valley in the upper Gualtallary district, Tupungato, at 4750 ft elevation. This micro-region is one of the two most valued of Mendoza for the quality of their Malbec.
The soil consists of a thin layer of sand over pure clay and stone. The desert climate, with over 300 days of sunshine and high thermal amplitude, favors the balanced development of polyphenols and acidity, giving the resulting wines great freshness and elegance.
