A beautiful ruby color half-layered tile precedes an aromatic explosion of aging notes (vanilla, roasted, spices …), very ripe fruit (raisins, caramel) and very subtle notes of aging in the bottle: hides, litter, tobacco, etc. As the wine opens, the aromas become more intense.

In the mouth the wine emphasizes a flavor perfectly assembled, unctuous and silky. It is very long, with a velvet-like feel and a very nice aftertaste.

This is a great Rioja classic that combines perfectly with roasted meats - especially lamb -, barbecued chiletillas from sarmiento, preparations of high density (stewed game, fish in sauce) and of course cheeses of the cured and smoked type.

A wine characterized by its complexity and fineness, it presents a very attractive pairing with desserts and recipes dominated by chocolate.

Vineyard Notes

The grapes come from vineyards in the heart of Rioja Alavesa and in selected areas of Rioja Alta. They are vines cultivated with the traditional system in glass on very poor soils, of calcareous type and with loamy-loamy texture.

Fermentation and maceration is carried out for 20 days in stainless steel tanks with daily pumping to optimize the color and tannins. The aging was spread over 24 months in 225-liter American and French oak barrels. Once the aging process is finished, the wine is bottled and matured in the bottle for three years before release.
