The wine is drawn from the original Seven Hills Old Bocks, planted by the McClellan family in 1980. This vintage marks the 27th year of making Cabernet Sauvignon from these same vines.

2014 was a very warm vintage, giving us ripe fruit flavors, and concentrated berry structure, which produced firm tannins framing rich fruit density. This old vine Cabernet has a dark red color and a generous nose of black currant, cherry, spice, desert herb and white pepper. The palate is plush and mouth-filling yet framed with silky, fine-grained tannins and lifting acidity. It has flavors of black cherry, cassis, coffee bean, herb, tobacco leaf and spice. The wine will improve significantly with cellaring over the first five years, and will hold nicely and continue to develop for ten or more years from vintage.
