Mission Codename Throw no stones
Hit sensation Glasshaus Wines is back! This time with their outstanding Glasshaus 2013 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. This wine hails from the Sangiacomo Vineyard and the Price Family Vineyard in Gap’s Crown. These two vineyards bang out some of the finest fruit on the Sonoma Coast. Today’s wine is expected to be a super hot seller.
This Chardonnay is a beautiful golden yellow hue with top notch clarity. The complex and subdued nose contains notes of spiced apple, apple, limestone minerality, lavender, and caramel. Beautiful palate with rich flavor including roasted pear, wheatgrass, kiwi, saffron, and slate. For those that enjoy a leaner-style Chardonnay, meaning less oak and butter and more bright fruit driven by acidity, then this one is for you. A perfect pairing for a blue cheese wedge salad dressed with walnuts.
The list of wineries that make their wines from grapes grown by the Sangiacomo family is enormous, but here are a few of the most notable: The Prisoner Wine, Rombauer Vineyards, Black Stallion Winery, Domaine Chandon, Orin Swift Cellars, Francis Coppola Winery, Meiomi Wines, Flowers Winery, Simi, Bernardus Winery, Sojourn Cellars, St. Francis, Story, Ten Acre Winery, Brack Mountain, Schug Winery, Saintsbury and many many more.
The Sonoma Coast AVA, established in 1987, is the area directly adjacent to the Pacific coastline of Sonoma County. The ocean’s influence causing a cooler, higher rainfall and foggy climate most influences the vineyards of this region, many of which have exceptional views of the mighty Pacific. These factors cause grapes to mature and ripen more slowly which is ideal for Pinot Noir. The region is approximately 750 square miles with about 7,000 acres under vine.
This wine will sell out, so we hope to see you soon!

Here’s what the wine press has to say.
91 Points - Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast - “A reductive element of petrol and oak blows off over time bouquet-wise, but in taste and weight, the wine retains a sultry sense of oak and baked apple. Full bodied in style, it manages to stay balanced throughout, finishing in a buoyant twist of citrus.”
