Petrichor (pet-ri-kor) n. the scent of rain on dry earth
The 2.5-acre vineyard is densely planted to Grenache and Syrah in unique well-drained volcanic soil. Petrichor is farmed organically by hand and the fruit is intensely site driven. The wines display vibrant color and aromatics, sturdy tannins and natural acidity. There is a decided energy in the wines that we like to refer to as ‘plugged in’. The electric ruby quality associated with great balance and energy in the fruit is undeniably unique to its Fountaingove District AVA roots.
