JJ is 100% Merlot and shows nice aromas of berries, coffee, and subtle oak notes. Soft round flavours, well balanced tannins and acidity lead to a long and lingering finish.

It has good natural acidity, and well balanced tannins that will help this wine age well. You can enjoy this wine now or cellar it for additional rounded and complexity.

At J Ludlow, no additives are used in the production of our wines. JJ does go through malolactic to ensure stability and leave it with a butter like finish.

All our barrels are French Oak - 30% new French Oak.

JJ’s grapes come from the Santa Ynez Valley where the soil consists of light loam and clay.
