SENSORY NOTES: Savory notes of black pepper and licorice lead into a voluptuous mouthfeel of chocolate-covered cherry and blackcurrant. Lingering tannins are underscored by a touch of cranberry. The 2012 Ru’s Farm zin is a vibrant wine full of character. This wine will evolve into a softer, earthier wine over time.

VINEYARD NOTES: The 2012 Ru’s Farm zinfandel was sourced from some of the best vineyards in Dry Creek Valley. A combination of alluvial and loam soils offer a unique minerality to the wine. Dry Creek Valley’s warm days and cooler nights allow for longer hangtime.

VINIFICATION NOTES: The fruit was handpicked at optimal ripeness were then fermented on the skins in stainless steel tanks for 14 days. Pumpovers were performed twice daily. Aging occurred in a combination of French and American oak barrels (30% new) for 17 months.
