Tasting Notes Fresh summer strawberry greets the nose, descending into a candied orange blossom note with vibrant hues of white peach, rose water, dried coconut and tangerine reduction. The palate is true to the nose with a welcome round and voluptuous mouthfeel, finishing on bright acidity and clean minerality.

Wine Aromatic Vin Gris of Syrah was picked for a dry Provencal style Rose on September 9th, 2017. The whole cluster grapes were held on skins for 1 hour 10 minutes prior to being pressed in a white wine style. The wine was fermented naturally at a cool temperature of 58 degrees for two weeks. Aged on lees with 70% neutral oak/30% stainless prior to bottling March 2018.

The Story I was inspired to make this wine while touring the sunflower and lavender crested hills of Provence in June of 2016 with my husband. The enchanting pink light reflecting on the Rhone River deserved an equally inspired summer wine to bring us back to that moment in time. Each year I craft this wine with the desire to illicit the calm and beautiful romance of that week. We enjoy it on our deck with creamy cheeses, fresh bread, good friends and 9mo old son.

The Inspiration Each of our wine labels are inspired by a historic trailblazer. Our heroine, Olivia Brion, was inspired by Annie Londonberry, a Latvian immigrant to the United States who in 1894 became the first women to bicycle around the world. She was a revolutionary for her time, an entrepreuner, a voracious traveler and a mother to three. At 5 feet, 3 inches and 100 lbs, Annie road her 42lb bike around the world with only three days of cycling experience prior to her trip. Upon returning from her cycling venture, she wrote “I am a journalist and ‘new women’, if that term means that I believe I can do anything that any man can do.” Annie inspired me to be bold and fearless in all life and winemaking pursuits.
