Tasting Notes A perfect golden straw color, this lovely Chardonnay offers up scents of ripening Bartlett pear orchards, with butterscotch and vanilla showing off as well. A hint of key lime peeks out from underneath as it airs. Medium bodied, this wine offers light pear notes on the palate with gentle butter-scotch, opening to full-on flavors as it warms up. A smooth mouthfeel with medium acidity, the light lime hint awakens and makes itself known as you sip.

Sonoma Coast Sonoma Coast AVA is the largest appellation in Sonoma County, and stretch-es the entire coastline. Our Chardonnay grapes are sourced from a vineyard found in the south-eastern mountain range of this appellation. Known as the Petaluma Gap, the area is well known for its cool ocean breezes, creating perfect conditions for growing cold-climate Chardonnay.Extinct Mt. Taylor had a long history of volcanic activity in this area, creating a base of five different soils derived from silty volcanic ash. Chardonnay clones of Wente, 4, and Robert Young are planted in these rocky and well-drained clay loams (volcanic soils), which help create the beautiful minerality of our Roald Wine Company Chardonnay.
