SASSY. SALTY. SEDUCTIVE. SOPHISTICATED. SMART.
It all started at the fountain
The Summer leading up to my 50th birthday we went to France. It took that long to finally get there. The trip included Laura, Skylar and me as well as neighbors from two households on our street. We saw lots, walked a great deal, ate amazing food, but one of the most wonderful moments we experienced was a fountain-side café in Aix en Provence that placed buckets of rosé in the fountain for service. Upon seeing it, we vowed to go for lunch, right after we found our apartment and dropped off our luggage. After a couple of blocks and four flights of narrow and steep stairs up to our pad we headed back and lounged, sipped and laughed at a bistro table in a courtyard next to the very fountain Laura drew for our Provence inspired rosé. We promised each other we’ll go back one day. In the 2017 vintage, we sourced grenache exclusively from Dry Creek Valley, where I believe Rhone varieties thrive. We had the grapes picked early, with good acidity and went straight to press, aiming to make a delicious, crisp rosé.
What we taste
Whether you’re open to a picnic in your own backyard or not, rosé is your friend and confident. Sure, the romance of a beach, blanket strewed across the sand, sounds idyllic, but a fine rosé, such as this, can just as easily transport you there from your own back porch on a Wednesday night. It’ll melt the workday away with mouthwatering vibrancy and gentle flavors of strawberry, raspberry and a touch of spice.
Chill (you and the wine). Enjoy.
