In fact, not even a 5 minutes’ drive south from Fixin and you’re in Gevrey-Chambertin, where 25% of Burgundy’s crème de le crème vineyards reside.

A pastel tone of cranberry fades out to an extensive circumference of glowing brick orange. Wafting intensely out of the glass are pomegranate, blood orange, Bing cherry, raspberry, vibrant, fresh with a backdrop of spice. Once on the palate, it takes after its neighbor Gevrey-Chambertin, with the classic marriage of cherries and earth evident. Traditional, old school juiciness on the extensive finish leaves you yearning for the next sip, exquisitely delicate. This wine would be perfect with a smorgasbord of well-aged cheeses, charcuterie, roasted nuts, and dried fruits, but the pairing possibilities are endless as it was made for food.
