This Rhone-style Rose made from 100% Syrah. They were early morning picked and the whole cluster pressed immediately on receipt to the winery. So, even with no skin contact time, the flavorful wine produced is light red in color and shows the wonderful flavors of Syrah while still being a light and refreshing Rose wine. This makes the wine very versatile – perfect for enjoying chilled on its own or paired with a wide range of foods that will complement each other.

Alegría Vineyards

Alegría is a century-old field-blend vineyard, purchased and resurrected by Betsy & Bill Nachbaur in the early 1990s, They learned from public records that the vines were planted in 1890, and there were grapevines on the property in the 1880s. The first goal was to revive the old vineyard so they planted 17 acres of new vines. Today Alegría Vineyards has 26 acres planted with Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese, Dolcetto, Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet, and many lesser-known varieties, about 40 in all. The Alegría Vineyards provide a consistent source of the highest quality grapes for a number of premium wineries, nestled under tall old oak trees in the middle of the vineyards. Alegría, the vineyards’ name, is a Spanish word that means joy and happiness, chosen to honor California’s heritage and the workers who tirelessly tend to the vineyards.
