TASTING NOTES This wine starts out with rich tones of stone fruit: nectarine, white peach and a hint of very ripe apricot. The palate has more stone fruit characters plus a hint of pear. The mouthfeel is rich and round but the balanced acidity keeps the wine feeling light and very food friendly.
VINEYARD NOTES 2015 was a very dry year here in Sonoma County. Yields were down because the vines were stressed due to a shortage of water but flavors were concentrated with the smaller crop size.
WINEMAKER NOTES We picked our Chardonnay grapes in the early morning hours and hand sorted in the vineyard first before bringing them to the winery and gently whole-cluster pressing. The juice settled for 24 hours in tank before going down to all neutral barrels, where, we used 4 different types of yeast. After fermentation, the barrels were topped up and put through malolactic fermentation. The wine was kept on the lees until a few weeks before bottling.
