The Supertuscan of Montalcino. The legacy of G.Tachis for Argiano. Since 1995, Solengo represents power and boldness, pride and longevity.

The 2016 vintage had a mild winter followed by extremely dry spring and summer with high temperatures. Production was reduced by half. Separate fermentation of the different grape varietals, maceration of about 20 days and malolactic fermentation in cement were the winemaking processes used.

Great impact on the nose, blackberry fruit, spices, well-integrated wood, chocolate, and coffee. Soft and round palate with an excellent acid boost. Firm but soft tannins. Powerful and explosive it embodies all the energy of the hot vintage while maintaining a surprising freshness.

Solengo means ‘solitary wild boar in Tuscan, and describes perfectly the regal, powerful, self-confident beast that lurks within each delicious bottle.
