Piper-Heidsieck’s Rare is a Champagne that lives up to its name. This Cuvée de Prestige is produced in very limited quantities and in very select vintages. Rare Millesime 2002 is a luxurious, classical Cuvée – structured, full-bodied and bursting with fruit. Created with a majority of Chardonnay grapes from the Montagne de Reims region and complemented with Pinot Noir grapes from the same region, this wine is a blend of 17 Crus which matured for at least seven years in the House’s cellars.

The 2002 vintage is synonymous with richness and generosity. The wine went through alcoholic fermentation in September and October, followed by malolactic fermentation from October to December. Blending took place from February to April, followed by racking in January.

Piper-Heidsieck has only released 8 vintages of Rare since the first vintage in 1976. There are no rules for Rare - Winemaker Régis Camus has complete creative freedom to develop a blend that best reflects the unique vintage. The elaborate bottle design created by Parisian jeweler Arthus-Bertrand, features intricate golden-laced pattern mimicking the tempered grapevines from the vineyards. A very limited number of vintages released for this wine ensures consumers and trade of the best quality.

Rare is a unique expression of the award-winning winemaker, Régis Camus. Luxury Champagne drinkers and fine wine collectors who appreciate the collectability of this wine need to add to their cellars.
