Situated in Castelnuovo Berardenga, southeast from Siena, in the subzone of Pagliarese. The vineyard ranges from 320 to 390 meters in elevation and has a southwest exposure. The soil is quartzitic blue-grey sandstone mixed with sand strata, calcareous alberese mixed with alluvial pebbles. Galestro in some of the higher parts of the vineyard.

Hand-harvested in the first three weeks of October. Automatic daily punch-downs during fermentation at 28–30ºC, followed by 12–15 day maceration. Draining-off after fermentation. Aged in mostly 50 HL Slavonian casks for 12 months.

Ruby red with deep intensity and hue. Fruity, fine and elegant aromas dominated by wild berries, along with array of spicy notes. Fruity on the palate with good tannins and a lingering finish.
