In 2015 it was about the heat. This Cabernet Sauvignon heralds from one of the warmest locations in the Napa Valley. The 2015 vintage brought on a heat spell of 100+ degrees for several days. What that heat did for us was to really mature the tannins in the fruit and capture the youthful characteristics of Cabernet Sauvignon. While the tannins matured, the vines held their flavor profile with the heat. We were able to achieve a wine that is youthful in its expression and yet mature in its elegance.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon expresses the warmer vintage in its flavor profile and tannin expression. The nose has beautiful expressions of roses, raspberries, boysenberries, and vanilla/caramel. The wine has this perfumed nature to it, and is pleasantly fruit-forward. The tannins and structure are round and velvety. There are flavors of mixed berries and toasty characteristics that make this Cabernet taste like a warm raspberry pie. The wine finishes in layers of cherry, blackberry, and vanilla.
