Mission Codename Good Dog
$100 OFF from the excellent 2021 vintage, 94 from Jeb Dunnuck made by a 100-pt winemaker (with Château Pétrus on the resumé!)
Normally $140 from the winery. Yours for less than $40! Which is, by the way, the lowest price we’ve ever had on this very popular wine.
Maybe you’ve had a previous vintage of this wine or the similarly styled, similarly value-driven “Archer & Thorn”. In that case, you’re probably in for at least six bottles already.
A huge reason for the success of this wine comes from the winemaker, Kevin Morrisey. You may know him as the first American winemaker to work at Petrus (!), but also from his time at Ehlers Estate, Etude, and Stags’ Leap Winery. An impressive resumé, no doubt.
Nowadays he’s pulling no punches with Erikson & Caradin.
And all his wines share one thing in common when they land on our site – the inevitable “sold out” button where the “add to cart” once was!
For months after, the emails trickle in steadily asking for more, and if you’ve been impatiently waiting, the time is now. Rich, sultry, and expressive, with a few years in the bottle this is settling into a perfect drinking window from now through the end of the decade and beyond. Polished cassis, juicy dark blackberries, crushed graphite, shaved dark chocolate, sweet toasty oak, and we mentioned the 94 POINTS, right?!
For $37 you’ll be hard pressed to find a better deal.
94 points - Jeb Dunnuck - The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Craftsman & Wolves which includes 5% Petit Verdot, offers a vivid purple hue as well as a classic Napa Cabernet Sauvignon nose of wild blueberries, currants, iron, and Asian spices, with a kiss of background chocolately wood. It’s medium-bodied, has ripe, present tannins, and a great finish. Coming from two rows of Clone 337 and aged in 75% new French oak, this rocking effort is perfect for drinking over the coming 15 years or more.
