“The most amazing, sweet wines I have ever tasted.” - Wine Advocate

That was Robert Parker himself, the year before this was harvested. Previously he called Tirecul La Graviere “an astonishing discovery!” And further adding, “These wines will be nearly impossible to find, but I hope those few lucky enough to latch onto a few 500ml bottles will lay some away… and taste them against the greatest vintages of Château d’Yquem.”

For comparison, here’s what the 1998 Yquem goes for.

Or, for a TENTH of the price you can uncork what Jeb Dunnuck claims are “unquestionably some of the most impressive, sweet wines I’ve ever tasted.”

What other collectible can you think of with a legit 98 points AND 80% OFF, taking this down to just $55?

And guess what? This stash has been sleeping at the Château for a quarter of a century. With Jeb’s drinking window recommendation stretching out to 2049, there’s no doubt that this beauty has hit its PEAK. With staying power for yet another quarter century, no doubt. If you’re concerned beyond that, trust what Jeb says, these “will keep forever.”

And what to expect of a wine that’s nothing but individually selected berries with perfect noble rot? Okay, first of all, there is no denying the sugar there, like way over 200g/L which is like double that of an average can of soda. All natural, of course, no corn syrup here. Plus, the acidity is through the roof. And the blend is not something you find in Sauternes. Half Semillon and half Muscadelle, adds to the exotic style. From candied fruits to roasted nuts to the umami notes through the roof, this is as complex an elixir as it can get. A true nectar of the gods.

Final word on Tirecul from Robert Parker again, “this estate goes to unprecedented lengths as well as labor… as is the case with so many of the world’s greatest wines, the production is insignificant.”

Time immemorial since we last saw one in October of 2024… Here today, gone today?!

98 Points – Wine Advocate “In comparison with its siblings, the 1998 Cuvée Madame is more concentrated with a stunning “rôti” (texture), the consequence of noble rot. Evoking aromas of apricot, pineapple, vanilla pod, saffron and ripe orchard fruits, it’s full-bodied, concentrated and dense with a seamless texture that paves the way to a long, generous and endless finish. Undoubtedly, this is one of the most impressive, sweet wines from the southwest of France. Harvest occurred from October 21st to November 9th under perfect weather conditions. Drink 2024-2058.”
