But we can tell you with some certainty is that this 2022 Rutherford Cab comes with an X factor to us from the creative force behind it, founder and lead winemaker Reed Renaudin, of Amicus and DuMOL fame. Renaudin is like a Robin Hood of sorts in the upper echelons of Napa Valley’s wine scene. For over a decade, he’s been combining his cellar acumen (honed via enology studies at UC Davis) with his formidable business prowess to deliver exceptional wine at prices that, by Napa standards, seem downright inconceivable.

In this case, Renaudin has delivered an absolute BANGER of a Cabernet from a Rutherford vintage that, per ** Decanter** showcases “the AVA’s signature balance of power, elegance and dusty minerality.”

The Tasting Panel raved about this small-lot X release, awarding it an impressive 97 points. Popping the cork on it has resulted in much mouth-watering here at HQ, with our tasters unanimously impressed by its deep, dark cherry flavors, savory vanilla aromatics, and tannins so fine-polished that they could be used as a heat shield on a rocket re-entering the atmosphere.

Ahem. 97. Rutherford. For a price that’s about a couple of dozen pasture-raised organic eggs worth right now.
