Alarms (as well as fireworks) are going off here at Wine Spies HQ, because this Jacob Franklin single-vineyard Zin is coming in hotter than any California heat dome—and like all of the other Jacob Franklin offers we’ve had, it’s sure to sell out. Like, Warp Factor 3 speed sell out.

There is nothing more American than a good deal, right?

No BS here—the single vineyard in question is Rutherford’s Holy Grail: Morisoli Vineyard. Just a stone’s throw from legends like Staglin, Scarecrow, Inglenook, and Joseph Phelps, this site alone puts the wine in $200+ territory. It’s a dynamite bottle at full price, but at HALF OFF, it’s like scooping up Bitcoin mid-crash—timing is everything.

Anyone who’s been fortunate enough to jump on our previous Jacob Franklin wines isn’t reading this, because they already hit “Add to Cart,” and gone back to the BBQ.

For the rest of you, not only are you getting a Morisoli at about 1/10th the price of its neighbors, but it also happens to be made from some of the oldest Zinfandel vines (a century PLUS) in Napa. Wedged at the dead center of the Rutherford Bench’s famed alluvial fan soils, the exceptional nature of the Morisoli site was recognized as far back as 1880, when it was first planted (no wonder it’s been recognized by the Historic Vineyard Society)!

The oldest block with the most ancient vines are used to make this Old School, “field blend” style Zin. The teeeeny, tiiiiny berries are incredibly flavor-packed, and the result is absolutely bursting with brambly red berry action, juicy blue plum and wild cherry flavors, and all of the spice you can handle violets, licorice, black pepper, you-name-it. Of course, it’s all topped off with those incredible, powdery Rutherford dust tannins.
