Mission Codename Devilish Deliciousness

CLASSIFIED! TOP-SECRET!!!

We had to make a special kind of bargain to secure today’s 95-point Cab for less than $100 per bottle. Significantly below what you can find it for elsewhere.

Our reconnaissance indicates that it is THE BEST PRICE ANYWHERE! And we fully guarantee you will be thrilled when you tear open the package and see what’s inside.

To secure this price we had a make a deal, a treaty, a covenant if you will. Our word is bond, and we cannot reveal the wine’s identity. Yet, the most discerning Ops always seem to read between the lines and put forward some good guesses…

Silken in texture, yet rippling with intense black fruits, mocha, and minerality, this perfectly proportioned full-bodied Cab packed with powdery tannins is so delicious, we gladly would have signed any deal to share it with you.

What we can say is that the family has a long history in the wine industry globally but has been a strong part of the community in Napa for many decades. Early on they invested in a plot of land in the area that would become the Coombsville AVA. Their neighbors – two of the top winemakers in California – one famous for being a flying winemaker, the other famous for having made a wine with a flying icon. (we wish we could say more…)

Shaped like a western-facing saucer, Coombsville has remarkable sun exposure with cooling influences from the San Pablo Bay to the south, allowing for slow, even ripening that give the wine its robust fruit but supple tannins.

This wine is their top bottling, and entirely from the estate vineyard. It is harvested from select parcels on volcanic soils that yield complex mineral notes and a strong sense of place. Wine Spectator once commented that this label, “shows the distinct DNA of a specific site.” For those in the know, it is quintessentially Coombsville.

Speaking of Wine Spectator – in recent years the winery was in their Top 10 of the year! And did we mention it has 95-points from James Suckling? While he’s the only critic to review it so far, we can tell you it has received 95+ five times in the last six vintages from major publications.

Delicious now, it has the stuffing to improve ten-to-twenty years in a well-kept cellar, picking up leather, earthen, and tobacco nuance. Today, for less than $100, your future self will be pleased if you packed your cellar full!
