Mission Codename Novel
Oh… hold the phone. Call for back up. Bump up that line of credit!
Today’s offer is one to WRITE home about.
We’d like to introduce you to the Dundee Wine Library.
This bespoke project comes out of the core of Willamette Valley and is the brainchild of Henry and Araminta Miller. And avid readers and wine enthusiasts may already know about it. But for the rest of us, here’s the inside scoop.
After years of visiting the Valley while living in Portland, Oregon, the Millers took the leap into vineyard ownership, winery management and full-time hospitality.
With Thibaud Mandet now on board and a new tasting room in downtown McMinnville, DWL is primed to storm the stage. And YOU have a chance to stock your cellar with one of their best efforts at a price that’s disconnected from reality.
If you don’t know the brilliance of Thibaud Mandet yet, you should. Bordeaux born and trained, he led the team at Willakenzie for more than 16 years which brought them dozens of awards and high acclaim.
DWL is still under the radar but our favorite Northwest critical expert, Owen Bargreen has given many favorable scores to this winery over the years. Personally, we’re a few points higher for this gorgeous vintage, and our tasting note from Friday’s Gauntlet read simply, “Super Yummy.”
Besides “yummy,” the wine is beautifully structured and layered with all the concentration you’d expect from Willamette Valley. Think cherry cola, forest floor, and sexy silky tannins. A bit of bay leaf and ripe raspberries flow through the palette and create a perfectly balanced mouthfeel. Seriously, we loved this wine, and you will too.
But small production means there is only so much!! Be fast!
