Yes, THAT Schrader. The 2019 vintage earned Wine Spectator’s #1 Wine of the Year. Every vintage we get comes, and goes, in the blink of an eye.

Led by 100-pt winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, the previous vintages all hit mid to high 90 scores, and and while this is yet to be rated we have zero reason to doubt it will be any different. Judging by the vintage - which might go down in history as THE best ever in Napa, it has a good a chance of outshining EVERY previous rendition. And that’s saying something.

If big, pedal to the metal, ultra concentrated beasts are you jam, you’re into this. It’s like a domesticated tiger, soft and powerful, impressive to behold, but cuddly and ready to bowl you over with its incredible weight.

Schrader is one of the OG “cult” wines of Napa. And their “Double Diamond” is arguably one of the best ‘second wines’ from any similar Napa cult sources. While their wines sell for $300-400+ this costs a fraction of that.

It’s WORTH EVERY DANG PENNY in a time when so many things seem increasingly out of reach for us regular folk.

This comes from the Oakville cult wine powerhouse that received 100-point scores from Wine Advocate across three consecutive vintages under the direction THE Thomas Rivers Brown! Double Diamond is their entry-level offering here, but it’s anything but entry-level in the grand scheme of things. It serves up that same plump, pure, downright seductive charisma you’d expect from arguably one of the world’s finest Cabernet producers.

Did we mention the fruit? A chonky 70% of which comes from THE Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard?!

Dark as a tar pit in the glass, it sucks you in like one too. As Jeb says it has “incredibly sexy style” as it could not have been said better. Black currants, black cherry reduction, blackberry with nutmeg, vanilla crème, and some wild spicy mesquite type notes come bubbling to the surface too. There’s something truly unique and different about this wine. Hard to pin down exactly, but it’s unlike anything you have.
