Mission Codename Son of a Pritchard man

“One of the pioneers of Pritchard Hill, David Arthur Vineyards has been turning out great wines for several decades or more. I was deeply impressed with the wines.” - Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

Ever wanted to know what a $150-250 bottle of David Arthur’s high scoring, high end Cab tastes like? What about for $47? Well, here you go! Just the second vintage of this newly created, showstopping wine, and your chance to be one of the first to own this 94 pointer from the legendary producer. No waiting list needed. We got you covered - at the best price imaginable obviously!

Wine Spectator called Pritchard Hill “the Rodeo Drive of Napa Valley” and Wine Enthusiast says the area is “producing among the most profound wines in Napa Valley”. That’s because David Arthur is neighbors with Chappellet, Dalla Valle, Ovid, Bryant Family, and Colgin – often approaching a $1,000 a bottle these days. In other words, GOOD LUCK finding a comparable red on this peak under $100!

And this stuff? It stands proudly alongside all the blingy, ritzy, flashy Cabs from these neighbors. Hailing from the powerful 2016 vintage (a record high 98-point harvest according to Wine Advocate) this Cab dominant blend is just simmering with all manner of red fruit. Imagine the best cherry pie you’ve had (ours, incidentally, comes from Ikeda’s on the way to Lake Tahoe) and toss in some baked plum, sweet herbs, molasses, and even a drop of cherry cola. Devastatingly delicious stuff with a finish that extends long into the night.

Hot off the press, the James Suckling review below is all we found. Plus an overall early assessment from Antonio Galloni’s Vinous sums things up nicely here, “This is a superb set of new and upcoming releases from David Arthur and winemaker Nile Zacherle. The bottled 2016s capture all of the potential I saw in barrel. In 2016, Zacherle did not fine or filter the reds, a choice that has resulted in unusually fleshy, ample wines of real character.”

Available only via the winery mailing list at FULL price, or almost half off exclusively @ The Wine Spies today, while it lasts.

No doubt a serious wine worthy of your collection. Treat yourself!

“A soft and juicy red with a lovely freshness and brightness. Medium-bodied, balanced and subtlety structured with a long and flavorful finish.”
