Mission Codename Holy Foley!
$19 doesn’t get you much in the Napa Cabernet department. But savvy shoppers know they can get off-brand airpods or “Fruity Hoops” instead of Froot Loops for half the price. Same manufacturers, same quality, much different price. So that begs the question, what’s the Fruity Hoops equivalent of Napa Cab?? How do you pack all the power and polish we love into a package that costs a fraction of the market value?
Easy. You head to Lake County, just north of Napa, where the fruit costs WAY less. Sprinkle in some of our deal making magic, and we land a deal that’s straight up, off the meter LUNACY!
This stunning value comes via Foley Johnson and the Bill Foley empire. In addition to major land holdings that include some incredible vineyard sites across California, he owns Foley Johnson, Merus, Sebastiani, Chalk Hill, Ferrari-Carano, and nearly a dozen other very successful wineries. He has a wealth of options to source incredible fruit, and that’s on full display here.
Originally this luscious Cabernet was destined for their private Chairman’s Club. Turns out they made a little too much. So they gave us a call to move it for an incredible price. After tasting it, we HAPPILY took them up on it. What an astounding crowd pleaser! Soft, round, and blossoming with rich, forward fruit flavors of boysenberry, red currant, black cherries. A split of 50/50 American and French oak lends all kinds of subtle baking spice, coconut flakes, and Madagascar vanilla bean to the mix. And at 14.1% it doesn’t beat you over the head with high alcohol.
To say this was a joy to drink is like saying a few nights away from my small children at an all-inclusive resort in Boca Raton is somewhat relaxing.
Thrilling is more like it.
We IMPLORE you to grab a few bottles. No doubt your Napa Cab loving mind will be blown to bits because frankly, at this price (60% OFF by the way!!) you’d have to make your own wine to get a better deal.
