This is no Cabernet. It’s a juicy, electrified, full-throttle Sauv Blanc made in the same flashy style. All weighed down with lush lemony goodness and lightened up on the price, by a healthy 51% break.
Note that there are primarily TWO styles of Sauvignon Blanc in Napa Valley, one being the all stainless steel, grassy, zippy yet fairly simple kind and the other being a White Bordeaux clone, barrel-aged with Semillon for a rich, creamy, decadently luxurious take. You’re looking at a picture-perfect example of the latter.

It was entirely barrel-fermented in French oak (25% new). Tasting like liquid gold, it is crisp and bright on the palate with mouthwatering and precise hints of lemongrass, ginger, and grapefruit. Its finish is smooth and juicy, and it is ready to drink anytime between now and 2022.”

“The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Carsi Ranch Vineyard is composed of 76% Sauvignon Blanc and 24% Semillon. It delivers pretty, perfumed notes of lemon blossoms and preserved mandarin peel over a core of yellow apples and fresh pears with touches of Provence herbs and beeswax. Medium-bodied, the palate offers an abundance of fragrant citrus and apple flavors, supported by seamless freshness and a silken texture, finishing savory. Drink 2020-2025.”
