Mission Codename Without Me
Guess who’s back…
Back again.
ANTHEM’S BACK.
Tell a friend. No seriously, send some invites to your wine-loving aunt, uncle, coworker, or any other human you know who enjoys vinous delights. They’ll get $10 to use and some kickass wine to drink! And you’ll get $10 too as a sweet credit.
So. Anthem Cabernet. We offered the 2014 and you cleared every last bottle from our warehouse. Then we brought out the 2015 and you liberated those too. Now we have the 2011 (!), direct from the winery cellar and into your hands.
Of course, with a wild break again, from $135 down to our secret sale price.
Many of you already know what to expect. We hardly need to stoke the hype train, but let’s fire it up for the newbies. Crafted by none other than Jeff Ames, a true master who worked under Thomas Rivers Brown at Schrader, Maybach, Outpost, and TOR. Jeff also owns Rudius - and a lucky few of you may have experienced his outstanding Farella and Panek Cabs we sold. If you know, then you know…
2011 was the inaugural vintage produced from their Mt. Veeder Estate. Unlike the other vintages which leaned more into the black fruit side of things, this takes the extraction down a notch and dials up the overall elegance - while retaining that deep, lush, core of sweet fruit you love. Make no mistake, it’s still a huge, round mouth-filling wine. But red fruit dominates the nose and the palate - like a melted pile of those soft strawberry licorice twists from Trader Joe’s, mixed with some chocolate-dipped maraschino cherries, red currants, some savory sage, and sweet tobacco. Seamless, lush and expansive, with 10+ years of age, the tannins have resolved into gentle creatures. It’s a medium to full-bodied effort drinking prime right now but still has a good decade of peak performance left.
Oh, if you like some yang to go with your yin, we were able to sneak out a few more boxes of the tremendous white Anthem into the Store today, scroll down once you secure your reds!
Given how much love previous Anthem offers saw, there’s NO chance this lasts the day…maybe not even the morning.
