Mission Codename Able fable
DECADENT AND LUXURIOUS. CRAVEABLE.
We like seeing those words in a review.
We also like, no, FREAKING LOVE a monster jam-fest Petite Sirah like this one, at a near 50% discount.
Many of you know and love Elyse. The boutique family-run winery has been a best-kept secret in Napa for a long time. It’s named after their daughter. But they also have a son. And not wanting to play favorites, they helped him launch a small winery project named Jacob Franklin. And while you can find a few varietals under his name, he specializes in one thing - making kickass single-vineyard Petite.
Of course, by now we already knew what to expect from a Jacob Franklin PS. We’d describe it simply as an “uber-tasty blueberry jam bomb”. You probably know this too, considering the last three of them exited our warehouse at warp speed and quickly became some of our most popular wines ever offered. There’s tons of fruit, along with some milk chocolate, violet, blackberry, and caramel in there too. A couple of years in the bottle rounded out those burly tannins into much more friendly little creatures. It’s just wildly… craveable. Crushable. Gulpable. Loveable. The list goes on. Trust us to elevate your burgers with caramelized onions, wild mushrooms, melted brie, and this of course!
Sure, we know Jacob Franklin well with Petites from legendary sites like Hayne or Frediani, yet this too small to get famous St. Helena vineyard with prominent neighbors such as The Prisoner and Whitehall Lane remains a mighty fine secret source for Operative favorite Frog’s Leap too.
Get some and you’ll understand. If it hasn’t sold out yet…
92 Points, Exceptional Cellar Selection – Tastings.com
Black violet color. Aromas of pomegranate, rose hips, and milk chocolate with a chewy, crisp, dry-yet-fruity full body and a warming, complex, long candied nuts and orange peel, coconut macaroon, dried cranberry, spice cake, apricot chutney, and tobacco finish. A decadent and luxurious Petite Sirah with craveable notes of fruit, spice, and toasty tobacco.
Blackberries, violets, milk chocolate, caramel, spice
Intensity unravels on your tongue, evident from the deep-purple inky-black staining color
Tons of blackberry fruit, also with some milk chocolate, violets, and caramel in there too
A couple of years rounded out those burly tannins into much more friendly little creatures
It’s just wildly… craveable, crushable, loveable, the list goes on, just like the long finish
Elevate your burgers with caramelised onions, wilt mushrooms, melted brie, and this
